Review of hospital standards in Europe

Reviews the standards in Europe applied to hospital HVAC design, and gives an overview over the part 1 of Building services in hospitals—Heating, ventilation and air-conditioning in the Guideline VDI 2167. Presents the scope of the VDI Guideline, the hygiene class defined, the new HVAC concepts as well as the qualification of new operating rooms. Discusses the requirements as well as their relation to infection control issues.
